No, we welcome applications from anyone interested in the Support Worker role. Once your application is received, our selection process will carefully review your details alongside other candidates to determine your suitability for the position.
To be eligible for support, you must meet the current Immigration New Zealand requirements, which can be found on the Immigration New Zealand website. Please ensure you check your eligibility before applying. Our minimum qualification standard for visa support is a Level 4 Health and Wellbeing certification.
Please note that we only consider applicants who are already based in New Zealand.
IDEA Services assesses AEWV applications based on the needs of each geographic location. In most areas, we are unable to progress AEWV applications because there are sufficient applications from New Zealand residents and citizens. As an accredited employer, we are required by Immigration New Zealand to prioritise these applications over AEWV applications.

Yes, to be considered for a Support Worker role, you must hold a valid New Zealand Full Driver’s Licence. This is essential, as the role involves transporting the people we support to appointments and activities, driving mobility vehicles, and responding in emergency situations.
Some other roles at IHC also require a driver’s licence. If this is a requirement for a specific position, it will be noted in the job advertisement. You can also confirm by contacting our recruitment team at recruitment@ihc.org.nz
Shifts can include mornings, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers. You’ll have the opportunity to discuss your availability during the recruitment process, but flexibility is highly valued.

Interviews are usually conducted by a panel of two or three people. You willl be asked questions about your experience, skills, and how you approach different situations. In some cases, there may also be a practical assessment or presentation.
Yes, if you wish to bring a support person, just let us know in advance so we can make the appropriate arrangements. Please note that your support person cannot answer questions for you but is there to provide moral and physical support if you wish.
If you find that you cannot attend your arranged interview, you must contact the person who sent you the interview details as soon as possible.
